Agri Evolve Extended Fermentation
Beskrivelse
Barrels sealed for four days. That's the whole trick behind this lot from Agri Evolve - cherries locked away to ferment before they ever touch a drying bed, which is exactly where the blackberry, violet, and funk on the label come from. Grown at 1,800 metres in Uganda's Rwenzori Mountains, this is an anaerobic natural doing a lot with a fairly simple process.
The story behind it is just as good. Agri Evolve started in 2016 as a single coffee collection point, built on one promise: pay farmers fairly and pay them on time. Ten years on, that's grown into the Nyabirongo Processing Station - one of Uganda's largest and most advanced coffee facilities - supporting around 2,000 smallholder farmers across the Kasese District. Alongside the coffee, they're planting over 130,000 tree seedlings a year to fight local deforestation and have put energy-efficient stoves into more than 2,400 households, cutting reliance on firewood. B Corp certified since 2023, with an impact score of 81.5 - this is a producer doing the work, not just saying it.
